Product Information
Imidazo[1,2-a]pyridine-6-carboxamide is a chemical compound that is structurally related to the drug mesylate. It has been shown to inhibit the activity of ATP-dependent potassium pumps in tumor cells and tissues. Imidazo[1,2-a]pyridine-6-carboxamide has been found to be more potent than mesylate against tumor cells and xenografts in vivo. The metabolite imidazo[1,2-a]pyridine-6-carboxylic acid (IMC) is also present in these tumors. IMC has been found to inhibit the enzyme TNFα converting enzyme (TACE), which leads to an increase in tumor cell death by apoptosis.
