Product Information
Ichthynone is a calopogoniumisoflavone that has been extracted from the genus of plants called Etoac. It is used for the treatment of inflammatory diseases, cancer, and viral infections. Ichthynone inhibits the production of prostaglandins, which are inflammatory mediators that are produced by the body to defend against infection or injury. In addition, ichthynone has been shown to inhibit acetylcholinesterase activity in vitro. This inhibition may be due to an interaction with a hydroxyl group or prenyl group on the enzyme's surface. Ichthynone also exhibits antiviral properties in vitro and in vivo against various viruses including herpes simplex virus (HSV) and human immunodeficiency virus (HIV).
