Description:
Isobenzofuran-1(3H)-one is a chemical compound that is structurally similar to the drug coumarin. Isobenzofuran-1(3H)-one has shown potential as a drug target and has been shown to have antioxidative properties, inhibitory properties and biological properties. It also has a dihedral angle of about 100°, which may be important for its biological function. Isobenzofuran-1(3H)-one inhibits the production of p-hydroxybenzoic acid by inhibiting basic fibroblast cells, which may be related to its inhibitory effect on cancer cells. This chemical compound also induces mitochondrial membrane depolarization and neuronal death in rat brain cells in vitro.
