Imidazo[1,2-a]pyrazin-3-amine is a synthetic molecule that is used as a solvent for the reaction of other molecules. It can be used in the synthesis of benzodiazepine receptor ligands. Imidazo[1,2-a]pyrazin-3-amine has been shown to have the ability to form covalent complexes with protonated amines. This neutral form of imidazo[1,2-a]pyrazin-3-amine has been shown to react with electrophiles such as benzaldehyde and diphenylacetylene in the presence of a base to produce two different condensation products: pivoh and arylations. Photophysical properties include absorption in UV region and fluorescence emission in visible region.
