Description:
3-Iodo-1H-pyrrolo[3,2-b]pyridine is a ligand that binds to the 5-HT6 receptor. The affinity of 3-iodo-1H-pyrrolo[3,2-b]pyridine for the 5-HT6 receptor was high and binding assays showed affinity greater than that of serotonin. This ligand has been shown to have an affinity for 5-HT6 receptors in various tissues, including the brain. These results indicate that 3-iodo-1H-pyrrolo[3,2-b]pyridine may be used as a therapeutic agent for treating depression.
