Isoquinolin-4-ylboronic acid is a boron compound that is used in the synthesis of quinazolinones. It can also be used as a pharmaceutical intermediate to synthesize 6-chloropurine, which is a nucleoside analog that inhibits tumor growth and has antiviral activity. Isoquinolin-4-ylboronic acid is an acidic substance that has been shown to have inhibitory activities against tumor cells and enhance the biorecognition of proteins with n-acetylneuraminic acid. This chemical is also able to bind boronic acids in ternary complexes.
