Description:
Isoxazole-5-carbonitrile is a novel compound that has been shown to inhibit adipose tissue lipolysis and decrease the levels of plasma cholesterol. It also inhibits HMG-CoA reductase in vitro and in vivo, which may be due to its ability to bind to the enzyme. Isoxazole-5-carbonitrile was shown to be effective as an anti-cancer agent in several cancer cell lines and mice with breast cancer.
