Product Information
- 2-Iodpyrimidin
- Pyrimidine, 2-Iodo-
2-Iodopyrimidine is a bidentate ligand that can be used in cross-coupling reactions. The ligand binds to the metal ion through two nitrogen atoms and one carbon atom. 2-Iodopyrimidine has been shown to react with silver ions, forming the silver(II) complex. The efficiency of the reaction depends on many factors, including the concentration of silver ions and the type of device being used. X-ray crystallography studies have shown that when 2-iodopyrimidine is coordinated with a pyridine ring, it is unsymmetrical. Coordination chemistry also plays an important role in determining the reactivity of 2-iodopyrimidine; electron deficiency favors alkylation reactions.
2-Iodopyrimidine is a vitamin B1 cofactor analogue that can be used as a ligand for x-ray crystal structures. It has been used in x-ray crystal structures for pyridine rings and un
