Description:
2-Iodo-1,3-dimethoxybenzene is a synthetic chemical that is used in cross-coupling reactions to form carbon-carbon bonds. It is often used as a model for deuterated compounds. 2-Iodo-1,3-dimethoxybenzene reacts with boronic acids to form new carbon-carbon bonds which are usually oriented in the same direction as the original acetate groups. The mechanism of this reaction has been studied and found to be dependent on the substitution pattern of the starting material and the nature of the coupling partner. 2-Iodo-1,3-dimethoxybenzene has also been shown to be an efficient reagent for sulfoxide formation. This product is not soluble in water and should be diluted before use.
