Description:
1H-Imidazole-4,5-dimethanol is a small molecule that has been shown to have cytotoxic activity against human lymphocytic leukemia cells. It also has antitumor activity against murine tumors, such as l1210 and melanoma cell lines. 1H-Imidazole-4,5-dimethanol is soluble in water and reacts with formaldehyde to form the sodium salt. The compound also exhibits halogenation activity and can be used to synthesize imidazoles.
