Description:

4-(1H-Imidazol-1-yl)benzoicacid (1HIB) is a supramolecular compound that has been shown to interact with a number of different molecules, including carboxylates, anions, and ligands. This interaction is primarily due to the presence of a dihedral angle in the molecule. The stability of 1HIB has been shown by its fluorescence and x-ray diffraction results. It can be used as a ligand in metal salt formation and as an anion, which may be due to its acidic nature. 1HIB has also been found to have ionizable properties, which may be due to its solvents. Single crystal x-ray diffraction shows that it contains groups p2 symmetry.br>br>
