- Isopropyl trioleic titanate
Isopropyl trioleyltitanate (IPT) is a cross-linking agent that reacts with hydroxyl groups and silicon. It is used to seal the joints of concrete and mortar, as well as in the production of ceramic sealant. IPT has been shown to have photocatalytic properties. When exposed to light, it breaks down organic materials such as fatty acids and deionized water into hydrogen peroxide and oxygen gas. IPT also reacts with calcium carbonate to form calcium oxide, which is an environmentally safe sealant.
