Description:

(S)-3-Isopropyl-2,5-piperazinedione is an organic compound that can be synthesized in a laboratory. There are two isomers that can be formed from this molecule: (R)-3-isopropyl-2,5-piperazinedione and (S)-3-isopropyl-2,5-piperazinedione. The (S) isomer of this molecule has been shown to have intramolecular alkylation activity and exhibit antimicrobial activity against anthranilic acid producing bacteria. It also has the ability to form aldol condensation products with the addition of thionyl chloride or aldehydes.
