N-Isopropylacetamide is a catalysed compound that inhibits the enzyme acetylcholine esterase. This inhibition leads to a decrease in the level of acetylcholine, which is involved in many functions related to the central nervous system. N-Isopropylacetamide has been shown to be effective against infectious diseases and autoimmune diseases. It also has anti-proliferative effects on cancer cells, which may be due to its ability to inhibit uptake and induce cell death by apoptosis. The compound inhibits cellular uptake by binding to nitrogen atoms of amino acid residues, as well as interactions with carbonyl groups in proteins.
