Product Information

Name:
3-Iodo-1H-indole-2-carboxylic acid
Synonyms:
  • 1H-Indole-2-carboxylic acid, 3-iodo-
Description:

3-Iodo-1H-indole-2-carboxylic acid is a lactam that is used in the synthesis of other compounds. It has been shown to have significant activity against cell proliferation mediated by acetamidocyanoacetate and chalcone. 3-Iodo-1H-indole-2-carboxylic acid is assembled from a variety of commercially available starting materials, including nitrogenous bases, amines, and carboxylic acids. Organic chemistry techniques such as acetylation and reductive amination are employed to assemble this compound. The regioselectivity of this reaction results in the formation of predominantly the (3S) stereoisomer.
