- Indole-7-Boronic Acid
Indole-7-boronic acid is a modulator that inhibits the activity of phosphoenolpyruvate carboxykinase (PEPCK) and gluconeogenesis. It is orally active and has minimal side effects. Indole-7-boronic acid also inhibits the activity of transrepression, which is an enzyme involved in inflammation and cancer cell proliferation. Indole-7-boronic acid has been shown to be selective for nonsteroidal receptors, which are involved in inflammatory responses, suggesting it may be used as a drug for treating arthritis.
