Description:
8-Isopentenylnaringenin is a flavonoid derivative. It has been shown to inhibit the growth of human cervical cancer cells. 8-Isopentenylnaringenin has also been shown to have an inhibitory effect on the production of insulin and glycerol in rats. 8-Isopentenylnaringenin is found in plants such as Glycyrrhiza uralensis, Flavescens, and Prenylflavonoids. The compound may be used as a food preservative or additive because it inhibits the growth of staphylococcus bacteria.
