Description:
Isopropyl hexanoate is an organic acid that is used in the production of perfumes and deodorants. Isopropyl hexanoate has a switchable reaction with hydrogen fluoride, which can be thermally or chemically induced. The chemical reaction produces a mixture of esters, ketones and alcohols that are volatile compounds with organoleptic properties. The use of isopropyl hexanoate in perfumes and deodorants may have an inhibitory effect on prostatic hypertrophy, as it has been shown to have an acidic pH. Isopropyl hexanoate also has the structural formula C6H14O2.
