Description:

The 1H-imidazole-1-sulfonyl azide hydrochloride (1HISA) is an organic compound that has been used to synthesize lysine derivatives. The synthesis of lysine derivatives can be achieved by the acylation reaction of 1HISA with a carbonyl group in the presence of a base. This type of reaction is called transfer reactions. Transfer mechanisms are most often used in carbohydrate chemistry and in chemical biology. The synthesis of lysine derivatives also requires the use of a flow system, which provides an environment where the reaction can take place without interference from atmospheric oxygen or moisture. A typical example for this type of system is an amine, which reacts with 1HISA to form an imidazolium ion, which is then attacked by the carbonyl group in order to form a new amide bond. The structural analysis of 1HISA reveals that it contains methoxy groups and nitrogen atoms on its molecule
