Product Information
- 4-Iodo-2-Methylsulfanyl-Pyrimidine
- 4-iodo-2-(methylsulphanyl)pyrimidine
4-Iodo-2(methylthio)pyrimidine is a synthetic compound that has shown inhibitory potency against cancer cells. It has been shown to act as an inhibitor of the kinase activity of c-jun in a cell lung cancer assay, which may be related to its neuroprotective properties. 4-Iodo-2(methylthio)pyrimidine also inhibits protein synthesis and binds to the trifluoroacetic acid moiety at the active site of cerebellar granule proteins, leading to cell death. This drug is not selective for any particular kinase, but rather has a general effect on all kinases.
