Product Information

Name:
Imrecoxib
Description:

Imrecoxib is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that inhibits the enzyme cyclooxygenase and is used to treat chronic inflammation and pain associated with disease. Imrecoxib has been shown to be effective in reducing the signs and symptoms of osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and ankylosing spondylitis. Imrecoxib also reduces the risk of stroke in patients with diabetes mellitus type 2, although it may cause liver damage. The activity of imrecoxib can be increased by high doses of glucose injection or hyperglycemia due to a matrix effect on the enzyme cyclooxygenase-2. Imrecoxib is metabolized through oxidative metabolism by cytochrome P450 enzymes or glucuronidation by glucuronyl transferases, which are both inhibited by methylpyrazole drugs such as omeprazole or lansoprazole. This leads to reduced drug clearance and potential
