Product Information

Name:
2-Isopropyl-4-methylpyridin-3-amine
Description:

2-Isopropyl-4-methylpyridin-3-amine (2iPMP) is an inhibitor that has been developed for the treatment of cancers. It inhibits the mutated, inefficient and scaled process of cancer cells by blocking specific protein kinases. 2iPMP is a competitive inhibitor of these protein kinases and blocks the phosphorylation of their respective substrates. 2iPMP leads to a decreased proliferation rate, reduced cell migration and decreased cell viability in cancer cells. This compound has also shown to be efficient in inhibiting the mutated process in bacteria, yeast and plants. It has been shown that 2iPMP can inhibit bacterial growth through inhibition of protein synthesis and cellular respiration.
