3-(2-Iodoacetamido)-PROXYL is a water-soluble inhibitor molecule that is used in the modelling of infectious diseases. It has been shown to inhibit the growth of bacteria by reacting with sulfhydryl groups on enzymes, such as thioredoxins, glutaredoxins, and disulfide bonds. 3-(2-Iodoacetamido)-PROXYL inhibits the production of proteins involved in bacterial replication and growth by binding to lysine residues on these proteins. This drug has been shown to be effective against multiple strains of bacteria including Staphylococcus aureus (S. aureus), Enterococcus faecalis (E. faecalis), Escherichia coli (E. coli), Klebsiella pneumoniae (Klebsiella pneumoniae), Pseudomonas aeruginosa (Pseudomonas aeruginosa) and Salmonella enterica serov
