7-Iodoacetamidocoumarin-4-carboxylic acid is a small molecule that has been shown to inhibit the proliferation of cancer cells. It has been used in the treatment of liver cancers, with promising results. The 7-iodoacetamidocoumarin-4-carboxylic acid has also been shown to be effective in the treatment of intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma. This drug is currently undergoing clinical trials for other types of cancer, including prostate and breast cancer, as well as melanoma. 7-Iodoacetamidocoumarin-4-carboxylic acid inhibits the growth of cancer cells by binding to chemokine receptors on their surface and inhibiting the chemotaxis response. It also inhibits tumor angiogenesis by interfering with vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) signaling.
