Description:

N-(Iodoacetylaminoethyl)-8-naphthylamine-1-sulfonic acid is a fluorescent probe that can be used as a dimerization reagent. It has been shown to have a high sensitivity, and can be used in kinetic studies of the conformational changes of proteins. This probe is also useful for probing cysteine residues in proteins, as it reacts with cysteine to form an acylated sulfinic acid intermediate. N-(Iodoacetylaminoethyl)-8-naphthylamine-1-sulfonic acid has been shown to enhance fluorescence when bound to human serum albumin and certain other proteins.
