Isopropenyl-2-oxazoline is a reactive monomer that can be used in cross-linking reactions for the preparation of polyisoprene. The monomer reacts with the functional groups on the macromonomer to form covalent bonds. The resulting polymers exhibit good chemical stability and high reactivity, making them suitable for coatings and other applications. Isopropenyl-2-oxazoline can be polymerized by ring opening or nucleophilic attack, which are both kinetically controlled processes. In addition, magnetic resonance spectroscopy has been used to study the structure of model proteins and macroinitiators.
