Description

2-Isopropyl-6-methylaniline is a solvent that can be used as an extractant or organic solvent. It has a high boiling point, which makes it useful for extracting substances from plants and other solids. 2-Isopropyl-6-methylaniline is often used in the production of anilines, which are important industrial chemicals. This chemical may also be used to produce condensation products with formaldehyde and ammonia. The isomers of this compound have different physical properties, such as viscosity or particle size. This compound can be synthesized by reacting primary amines with an aluminium chloride solution in the presence of acid.
