Description:
1-Iodo-3,3,4,4,4-pentafluorobutane is a hydrocarbon that can be used as an incremental or a non-incremental phase change material. It has been shown to have a melting point of -44°C and a boiling point of -30°C. This material has been shown to have excellent thermal stability and can be used in temperatures ranging from -20°C to 120°C. 1-Iodo-3,3,4,4,4-pentafluorobutane also has low viscosity and is soluble in many solvents. 1-Iodo-3,3,4,4,4-pentafluorobutane has been shown to be useful for the synthesis of ionic liquids.
