Imino-tris(dimethylamino)phosphorane is a phosphazene with a chemical structure that can be represented as (PNR 3 ) 3 . It has excellent thermal stability and is soluble in glycol ethers, which makes it suitable for use as a reaction solution. Imino-tris(dimethylamino)phosphorane has been shown to inhibit the growth of malonic acid bacteria by chelating the metal ions present in their cell walls. The addition of amine groups to the molecule increases its hydrophilicity and improves its solubility in water. This phosphazene also reacts with other ligands such as phenoxy or hydroxyl groups on proteins, which may lead to an increased reactivity of the molecule. Imino-tris(dimethylamino)phosphorane is often used as an optical sensor for biological activity, due to its ability to change colour depending on pH levels.
