Product Information
Irbesartan is a drug that inhibits the binding of angiotensin II to its type 1 receptor. It is used for the treatment of high blood pressure and congestive heart failure. Irbesartan-d4 is a derivative of irbesartan that contains a deuterium atom in place of hydrogen at position 4 on the benzene ring. This compound was prepared by reacting irbesartan with sodium deuteride in methanol, followed by purification through chromatography and confirmed by mass spectroscopy. Irbesartan-d4 has been shown to have antihypertensive activity in clinical studies, as well as competitively inhibit angiotensin II type 1 receptor binding in vitro.
