Description:
Isopropyl nortropine is an anticholinergic drug that is used in the treatment of respiratory diseases, including bronchitis and asthma. It is administered by a nasal spray or injection. Isopropyl nortropine causes a decrease in bronchial secretions and decreases the risk of symptoms such as wheezing, chest tightness, and shortness of breath. Isopropyl nortropine also reduces the production of mucus by inhibiting acetylcholine-induced secretion from goblet cells. The drug binds to muscarinic receptors on parasympathetic nerves, which leads to contraction of smooth muscle in the airways.
