Isopropamide iodide is a drug used as an antidote for poisoning by a number of drugs, including tiludronic acid, cevimeline hydrochloride, mivacurium chloride, and benzalkonium chloride. Isopropamide iodide binds to the receptor site on the poison and prevents it from binding to other sites. It is also used in topical ointments to treat skin conditions such as psoriasis and eczema. Isopropamide iodide has been shown to stimulate epidermal growth factor production in keratinocytes, which may be responsible for its anti-inflammatory properties.
