- Iminobispropanol
- Propanol, iminobis-
Iminodipropanol is a synthetic compound that has been shown to inhibit the growth of L1210 leukemia cells in vitro. The mechanism of action of iminodipropanol is not known, but it has been hypothesized that the compound may bind to copper ions in the cell and interfere with protein synthesis. Iminodipropanol is insoluble in water and does not dissolve in organic solvents, making it difficult to administer orally. This lack of solubility also makes it difficult for iminodipropanol to cross the blood-brain barrier and enter the brain. Iminodipropanol is homologous to other heterocyclic compounds and can undergo bond cleavage reactions.
