2-Iodo-1,4-benzenediamine is an alkylzinc compound that is used in the palladium-catalyzed cross-coupling reaction with styrene. The reaction is catalyzed by magnesium and allyl bromide. 2-Iodo-1,4-benzenediamine is a halide that has been shown to be electron deficient. It can be used for the synthesis of functionalized organic compounds by either cross-coupling reactions or cross coupling. 2-Iodo-1,4-benzenediamine also has the ability to react with amines to form N,N'-disubstituted ureas.
