Isopropyl chloroformate is a bicyclic heterocycle that has nitrogen atoms in its structure. It is an ester hydrochloride that reacts with fatty acids to form ester salts. Isopropyl chloroformate inhibits the enzyme that catalyzes the reaction of sodium carbonate and anhydrous sodium, which converts fatty acids into their corresponding soaps. Isopropyl chloroformate also inhibits the enzymes involved in autoimmune diseases and metabolic disorders, such as hydroxyl group and magnesium salt. It reacts with water to form hydrogen chloride and acetone, which are both dispersive solids.
