N-isopropylaniline is a chemical compound that belongs to the class of amines. It is a 5-HT2c receptor agonist and has been used to study the function of this receptor in vivo. N-isopropylaniline has also been shown to increase locomotor activity in mice. This drug binds reversibly to the 5-HT2 receptor, which may be due to its hydroxyl group and methyl ethyl group. N-isopropylaniline has also been shown to have an inhibitory effect on fatty acid oxidation by human liver microsomes, which may be due to its metabolic effects.
