IsObOrnyl methacrylate is a reactive monomer and polymer that is used in the production of polymers. It has a hydroxyl group at the end of the carbon chain and can react with other chemicals to form new compounds. IsObOrnyl methacrylate is used in the production of polymers such as polymethyl methacrylate. The reaction mechanism for this compound is shown below:

The product is stable when exposed to light or air, but can be degraded by heat, acidity, and other chemicals. When heated or exposed to light (UV), it will degrade into an alcohol and carbon dioxide. This product can also be made into particles by grinding it to a powdery consistency. Particles will have a copper complex on the surface which inhibits oxidation of the material.
