Product Information
- 5-Isoquinolinecarboxylic acid
Isoquinoline-5-carboxylic acid is a thiourea that can be synthesized from acetone and trifluoromethyl iodide. It emits red light when irradiated with light, which makes it a good candidate for use in LEDs. The emission intensity can be controlled by varying the pH of the solution. Isoquinoline-5-carboxylic acid has been used to create ancillary ligands for metal complexes, such as iridium complexes. These ligands are used to measure oxidation states and electron transfer rates in electrochemistry experiments.
