Product Information
- 1,2-Oxazole-3-carbaldehyde3-Isoxazolecarboxaldehyde
- 1,2-Oxazole-3-carbaldehyde
Isoxazole-3-carbaldehyde is a chemical compound that is a colorless liquid at room temperature. It has been shown to be an effective antibacterial agent in the form of a solution, which diffuses into bacterial cells and disrupts their membrane. Isoxazole-3-carbaldehyde has also been shown to inhibit the production of nitrite from nitrate by bacillus subtilis. This process is due to the formation of phosphoranes, which are created when Isoxazole-3-carbaldehyde reacts with phosphate ions and water. The structural properties of Isoxazole-3-carbaldehyde have been studied using X-ray crystallography, showing that it has a planar structure with hydrogen bonds between atoms. The functional theory for this reaction was formulated based on these findings and predicts that Isoxazole-3-carbaldehyde will bind to specific sites on bacterial cell membranes, forming hydrogen bonds with amino acids.
