Isoxazol-3-yl-methylamine hydrochloride is an isomer of isoamilas. It is a gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) agonist that has been shown to inhibit the synthesis of glutamate and aspartate, which are neurotransmitters in the brain that regulate synaptic activity. Isoxazol-3-yl-methylamine hydrochloride has also been shown to produce depolarizing responses in rat hippocampal neurons, indicating its potential use as a treatment for epilepsy. Isoxazol-3-yl-methylamine hydrochloride may be used to treat disease states such as Parkinson's disease and epilepsy.
