Product Information
- Pyridine, 3-Iodo-4-Methoxy-
- 3-Iodo-4-methoxypyridine
3-Iodo-4-methoxy-pyridine is a chemical compound that belongs to the class of indoles. It has been shown to be effective in inhibiting the growth of melanoma cells, with an IC50 value of 10 μM. 3-Iodo-4-methoxy-pyridine also has been shown to have a rationalized mechanism and intermediates that are well known from other indole compounds. 3-Iodo-4-methoxy-pyridine is synthesized by reacting iodobenzene with pyrrole in the presence of copper. The yield for this reaction was found to be about 50%. The antiproliferative activity of 3-iodo-4 methoxy pyridine has been evaluated using MTT assays, which is a measure of cellular metabolic activity.
