Description

2-(Isopropylamino)ethylamine is a molecule that has a hydroxyl group on the 2-position. This compound is used as an antihypertensive agent, and it inhibits the activity of angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE). 2-(Isopropylamino)ethylamine acts as a matrix effect in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and can be used to prepare samples for analysis by covid-19. The phase transition temperature of this substance is -15°C, which means that it will solidify at this temperature. This molecule can be oxidized to form a zwitterion through nucleophilic attack of the hydroxyl group by water. 2-(Isopropylamino)ethylamine is also used as crosslinkers in polymer chemistry, and it has been shown to adsorb onto surfaces via ring-opening or covalent bonding.
