2'-Iodoacetanilide is a synthetic chemical that consists of an amido group linked to a terminal alkyne. It can be synthesized by reacting aniline with chloroacetyl chloride in the presence of sodium bicarbonate. 2'-Iodoacetanilide has been shown to have optical properties that are different from those of its unsubstituted counterpart, which is due to the presence of the bulky iodide substituent.
