Product Information
- 3-Iodo-4H-chromen-4-one
3-Iodochromone is an isoflavone that has been shown to inhibit the growth of cancer cells in vivo. It has also been found to induce apoptosis and cytotoxicity in microglial cells. 3-Iodochromone has a number of prenyl groups, which are compounds that contain a carbon atom triple-bonded to two hydrogen atoms and one
oxygen atom, as well as a carbonyl group, which is a derivative of an organic acid containing a carboxylic acid group. 3-Iodochromone is structurally similar to mercaptoazoles, which are known for their inhibition of mammalian protein synthesis. The skeleton of 3-iodochromone contains nitrogen nucleophiles that can be used for cross-coupling reactions with other molecules. Animal experiments have shown 3-iodochromone to have anti-inflammatory properties.
