Product Information

Name:
Isoxazole-4-carboxylic acid
Synonyms:
  • Isoxazole-4-Carboxylic Acid
Description:

Isoxazole-4-carboxylic acid is an amide that has been shown to be a potent inhibitor of the uptake of chloride in cells. This inhibition is due to its ability to bind to and stabilize the chloride channel in the cell membrane. The metabolic effects of this compound are related to both its inhibitory effect on chloride uptake and its ability to inhibit histone H3 phosphorylation, which may be due to its similarity with dacarbazine. Isoxazole-4-carboxylic acid has also been shown to have anticancer activity, which may be related to its ability to inhibit the growth of tumor cells by inhibiting DNA synthesis, RNA synthesis, or protein synthesis.
