Description:

N'-Isopropylidene-2-nitrobenzenesulfonohydrazide is a cyclobutane natural product. It can be synthesized by treating 2-nitrobenzenesulfonylhydrazine with isopropylidene chloride in the presence of a base. This synthetic process produces the desired compound in an efficient manner with high yield and selectivity. The synthesis is stereoselective, asymmetric, and uses metal hydrides for the reduction of nitro groups.
