Isoginkgetin is a natural compound that is found in the leaves of the Isoflavonoid family. Isoginkgetin has been shown to be active against inflammation and genotoxicity. It inhibits the activity of matrix metalloproteinases (MMP-9) and prevents cell lysis, which may be due to its ability to inhibit the production of reactive oxygen species (ROS). Isoginkgetin has also been shown to have chemiluminescence properties. This effect is most likely due to its ability to react with organic compounds such as oxygen or nitrogen oxides, which are generated by cells during oxidative stress.
