Product Information
- 1H-tetrazole, 5-(2-iodophenyl)-
5-(2-Iodophenyl)-1H-tetrazole is a hypervalent, exothermic compound that has been shown to have cyclic voltammetry and thermal gravimetric analysis. The redox activity of this compound was determined by cyclic voltammetry, which showed that it had a potential of -0.08 volts (vs. the standard hydrogen electrode). It also undergoes dimerization with sulfoxide to form a redox couple, which is thermally stable up to 248 degrees Celsius and can be x-ray crystallographically characterized. 5-(2-Iodophenyl)-1H-tetrazole has been shown to be polyvalent and crystallizes in an orthorhombic system with space group Pna21.
