Description:
1-Iodo-2,2,3,3,3-Pentafluoropropane is a fluorinated compound that is used in cross-coupling reactions. It can be used to form carbon-carbon bonds using palladium as a catalyst. 1-Iodo-2,2,3,3,3-Pentafluoropropane can be used in the synthesis of pharmaceuticals and other organic compounds. It has been shown to increase the thermal stability of polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE). This compound has been shown to be effective in stabilizing magnesium metal against thermally induced corrosion. The use of 1-Iodo-2,2,3,3,3-Pentafluoropropane results in lubricity and ease of machining for metals such as aluminum and magnesium.
