2-(Piperidin-4-yl)-2H-1,2,3-benzotriazole is a carboxylic acid that has been shown to have significant antibacterial and antifungal activity. It has been shown to inhibit the growth of bacteria in the genus Escherichia, including E. coli and Klebsiella pneumoniae, as well as yeast and other fungi. The 2-(piperidin-4-yl)-2H-1,2,3-benzotriazole molecule has an interesting molecular structure with a hydrazide group at one end and a carboxylic acid group at the other end. The hydrazide group can be hydrolyzed by an enzyme called hydrazide hydrolase to give a carboxylic acid group.
